This week, we continue our into the Old Testament as we explore the start of King Solomon’s reign. Solomon was David’s son, and was anointed by his father to become king. Things didn’t start so smoothly with Solomon’s reign – but then God spoke to Solomon in a dream and asked what he wanted most. Solomon thanked God for making him king in place of David, and asked for an understanding mind to govern his people and discern right from wrong. God was pleased, because Solomon did not ask for something for himself but instead thought of his people first. If God came to you in a dream, what would you ask for , and how would you use such an amazing gift? We will explore these questions and more in a sermon based on 1 Kings 2: 10 – 12 and 3:3 – 14. See you Sunday, in person or online!
