In Chapter 11 of Hebrews, the author of the letter (who may or may not be Paul) explains that faith is “the assurance of things hoped for” and “the conviction of things not seen.” The author then describes examples of faith from the Old Testament, beginning with creation and continuing through Abraham, Sarah, and many other heroes of the faith. But what does this description of faith really mean for us, and what can we learn from revisiting the faith stories of Old Testament heroes?
